Are you creative, aged 16-30, and living in Scotland?
Work with us to shape our new Youth Led Fund
Creative Scotland and Moniack Mhor are looking for young people, aged 16-30, from across Scotland who have experienced isolation to join a new group who will shape and deliver a one-year fund designed to boost the creativity of isolated young people.
No experience is needed, training and support will be provided. Find out more below.
What will you be doing?
You will be a member of a small group who will shape and deliver a Creative Scotland fund designed to boost the creativity of isolated young people.
Start with a one-week residential with training, creative workshops, and a chance to get to know your fellow steering committee members.
Work with Moniack Mhor and Creative Scotland to decide what direction the funding should go in and how it is communicated.
From April – December 2025, attend regular meetings online to assess applications to the fund once up and running and review progress.
How much work will it be and is it a paid position?
Hours will be flexible, and to start with, you’d probably need to be able to work a few hours per month.
You will be reimbursed for your time in a way that works for you, this might be bank transfers, vouchers etc. The rate of pay is £13.50 per hour.
Geography isn’t an issue, as you can work remotely and when you come to Moniack Mhor for a residential, we will cover your travel expenses.

24th – 29th March – Residential week at Moniack Mhor
April – December – Delivery of creative fund, details to be shaped by group at March residential

Phone us on 01463 741675 or send us an email to youthfund@moniackmhor.org.uk by 21st February to register your interest. This can be as brief as writing ‘I am interested’. We’ll organise a chat as soon you have registered interest in joining the group. The group will be appointed by 3rd March.

You will be part of a small group of young people aged 16-30 who will help to shape and deliver the fund. This will likely be a group of around 10 young people.

Creative Scotland is the public body that supports the arts, screen and creative industries across all parts of Scotland on behalf of everyone who lives, works or visits here. Moniack Mhor is a beautiful creative writing retreat centre, in the hills above Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland. We both work with people across Scotland and develop their creative lives.
