Writer Eris Young will lead the Young Writers’ Café for young people in Inverness and surrounding areas in May.

Join Shoreline of Infinity Magazine’s fiction editor, Eris Young, for a sci-fi workshop, exploring what “science fiction” really is, and how to use science and tech to create conflict and shape character.

No need for experience, just bring along a playful mind and pen and paper! Drinks and snacks provided.

Please note, this workshop is free but but you do need to secure your place by booking below. By booking, you confirm that you are a young writer aged 14-24, and based in Scotland. For enquiries, contact youngwriters@moniackmhor.org.uk.

 

About the author

Eris Young is a transgender writer of speculative fiction. Their sci-fi and fantasy short stories have appeared in publications across the UK and beyond, including Escape Pod, GigaNotoSaurus, Small Wonders and the anthology Nova Scotia 2: New Scottish Speculative Fiction. They are a recipient of a Scottish Book Trust New Writer Award, and their work has been longlisted for a BSFA Award and the Cheshire Novel Prize. They are fiction editor at Shoreline of Infinity, Scotland’s own science fiction magazine, which won the 2024 British Fantasy Award for Best Periodical.
